257 Squadron' was completed at Brighton Works in 1948 as one of the first of its Class produced under BR, and allocated to Dover Marine Shed to work the Continental Boat Trains to London.
Perhaps more incredible than its service life are the efforts made in light of '257 Squadron's' significant name in relation to the Battle of Britain and Second World War to return the locomotive to traffic in October 2021.
